Texas Rangers activate Wyatt Langford, option Josh Smith to AAA

The Texas Rangers have activated outfielder Wyatt Langford from the injured list as of July 9, 2026. Langford had missed two weeks due to a hamstring strain after last playing on June 26. To create roster space, Josh Smith has been optioned to AAA Round Rock. Langford has performed well when healthy, with a.278 batting average in 40 games this season. Smith was recently called up after Corey Seager went back on the injured list.
