The Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners 10-5 on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Park. Texas starting pitcher Bryce Miller struggled early, allowing four earned runs over 3.2 innings of work. Although Mariners prospect Lazaro Montes hit a 474-foot three-run home run in the fourth inning to narrow the deficit, the Rangers responded with five additional runs, including homers from Wyatt Langford and Danny Jansen. Seattle now sits seven games out of first place in their division and 6.5 games out of the final wild card spot. The teams are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday afternoon for the second game of their three-game series.
