Texas Rangers place Jakob Junis on injured list, recall Winston Santos

The Texas Rangers announced that reliever Jakob Junis has been placed on the injured list due to a left adductor strain. Junis, a key eighth-inning pitcher for Texas, had recently returned from the injured list earlier in July. To fill his spot, the Rangers have recalled right-handed pitcher Winston Santos from AAA Round Rock. Santos has pitched only once in the majors this season and is expected to help provide innings as the Rangers employ a bullpen game. Junis's injury could lead to shifts in the Rangers' late-inning strategy until his return or a potential trade.
