The Texas Rangers selected Massachusetts prep pitcher Brody Bumila with the 89th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft on July 11. Bumila, a 6'9" left-hander from Bishop Feehan High School, has a fastball that has reached over 100 mph. He was previously viewed as a likely first-round pick, but concerns about recent UCL damage affected his draft stock. Despite this, Bumila is expected to sign with the Rangers, having currently committed to the University of Texas.
- •Bumila turns 19 in January 2027.
- •He was a dominant basketball player at Bishop Feehan.
- •Bumila underwent internal brace surgery last summer.
- •The Rangers took Bumila with their third round pick, 89th overall.
- •He needs to tighten his command and improve his secondary pitches.
