Texas tight end Nick Townsend sustained a knee injury on the punt coverage unit in the third quarter against Ohio State. Townsend was pushed from behind while attempting a tackle, immediately grabbing his right knee before heading to the locker room. He played 22 offensive snaps and three on special teams but did not receive a target. Head coach Steve Sarkisian indicated the medical staff will continue to evaluate his condition, and there is currently no timeline for his return. Additionally, defensive lineman Justus Terry did not play due to a foot injury sustained in warmups.
