Texas Tech men's basketball announced the signings of freshman guard Amari Barrett and center Bassala Bagayoko for the 2026-27 season. Barrett officially joined the roster after previously committing to Texas Tech, while Bagayoko, who has played professionally in Spain, will provide necessary depth as the team faces the absence of NBA-bound guard Christian Anderson and All-American JT Toppin, recovering from a torn ACL. The team now features eight newcomers, including Jamichael Stillwell and Darrion Williams from UCF and NC State. The Red Raiders begin their season on November 2 against Jackson State.
