The Columbus Dispatch opens voting for girls high school athlete of the week

The Columbus Dispatch opened its weekly poll for the Girls Athlete of the Week, sponsored by the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, on September 8. Readers have until 4 p.m. on September 12 to cast their votes online. The five nominees include tennis players Nora Grennan of Watkins Memorial and Maya Olmos of Westerville Central, golfers Jodie Han of Olentangy and Eva Lim of Columbus Academy, and cross-country runner Katelyn Van Zandt of Watterson. Athletes earn a spot on the ballot based on recent performances and nominations. Winners are ineligible for subsequent weekly ballots until the postseason begins. Voting is restricted to one vote per hour, and the publication will not accept email entries.
