The Lakers have drafted 14 players from the University of Minnesota

Throughout their history, the Los Angeles Lakers have selected 14 players from the University of Minnesota basketball program. The majority of these draft selections occurred while the franchise was still based in Minneapolis. Notable players selected include Bud Grant, who later became a prominent NFL head coach, and Whitey Skoog, who earned three championships with the team. Other draft picks include Archie Clark, who played for the Lakers before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in the deal that brought Wilt Chamberlain to Los Angeles. While many of these selections appeared for the team, others such as Dick Means, Bob Gelle, and George Kline never played in the NBA.
