The Prairie School scores three corner kick goals to defeat Xavier 5-0

The Prairie School secured a 5-0 victory over Xavier in the WIAA Division 4 state girls soccer championship on June 20 at Uihlein Soccer Park. The team capitalized on corner kicks, with three of the five goals resulting from set pieces, including two headers from Meghan Gavigan. Kiera Kimbrough added another header in the second half, while Constanza Belaunzaran capped off the scoring with a penalty kick. Xavier, who had only conceded nine goals all season before the final, struggled to defend against The Prairie School's aerial attacks, a focus in preparation that ultimately did not pay off. Xavier will now look to regroup as they transition into next season, with key seniors having played their final game.
