The State Journal-Register opens athlete of the week poll for local nominations

The State Journal-Register has opened its athlete of the week voting period for performances occurring between August 31 and September 5. The publication is currently accepting fan votes through its sponsored poll to determine the winner for the designated period. Nominations for future consideration are accepted on a weekly basis through the end of each Friday via the sports email address. The previous week’s poll resulted in a selection for Jacksonville athlete Rylan Rees. This week’s active poll remains open for public participation until noon on Friday, September 11. The publication continues to track regional high school sports updates, including recent football performances and volleyball matches such as the victory for Auburn against Litchfield involving Hayes and Arenz.
