Thomas Beauregard captures U-14 title at Rhode Island Junior Amateur

Thomas Beauregard, of Montaup Country Club, won the Boys U-14 championship at the Rhode Island Junior Amateur on July 31. Beauregard defeated Ben Fenster of Wanumetonomy by 7-and-6 in the final match at Pawtucket Country Club. Both players took different paths to the championship; Beauregard was the No. 4 seed after qualifying with an 80, while Fenster was seeded 11th with an 87. During the title match, Beauregard started strong, leading 6-up at the turn and eventually sealing the victory on the 12th hole. The U-14 division has gained recognition with past winners achieving notable success in junior golf.
