Thomas Pannone throws perfect game for Class AAA Nashville Sounds

Milwaukee Brewers minor league pitcher Thomas Pannone threw a perfect game for the Class AAA Nashville Sounds on Sept. 7. The 32-year-old left-hander retired all 27 batters he faced in a 3-0 victory over the Durham Bulls. Pannone recorded eight strikeouts and threw 61 strikes across 94 pitches. The performance marks the fifth nine-inning perfect game in International League history and the third in the history of the Nashville Sounds franchise. Shortstop Eduardo Garcia supported the effort with a home run and two defensive plays in the final inning. Pannone, who has spent time in the major leagues this season with the Brewers, successfully navigated the Durham lineup to secure the win. The victory was a rare Labor Day contest for the organization, which opted to schedule the game for the holiday.
