Thousands watch first stage of Tour of Britain in Lincoln

Approximately 8,000 spectators gathered in Lincoln on September 2, 2026, to witness the opening stage of the Tour of Britain cycling race. Riders began with a neutralised start at Castle Square before official racing commenced on Wragby Road. The route covered 113.4 miles through several towns and villages, including Market Rasen, Rothwell, Caistor, Waddingham, and Burton.
