Three Brevard County players selected in 2026 MLB Draft

On June 12, three high school graduates from Brevard County were selected in the 2026 MLB Draft. Alex Sosa of Viera was picked in the sixth round by the Oakland Athletics, Kide Adetuyi of Merritt Island was selected in the seventh round by the Boston Red Sox, and Michael Petite of Melbourne went to the Seattle Mariners in the 19th round. All players had noteworthy college careers, with Sosa leading his Miami team in key offensive categories and Adetuyi establishing himself as a prominent pitcher after recovering from injury. Camden Wicker, from Viera, signed with the Baltimore Orioles as an undrafted free agent on June 13, following his college career at UCF and Wofford.
