Thunder consider Cason Wallace or Ajay Mitchell for fifth starter role

As the Oklahoma City Thunder approach the start of the 2026-27 NBA season, discussions arise around who will fill the fifth starter position. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, and Isaiah Hartenstein solidified as the primary starters, focus shifts to Cason Wallace and Ajay Mitchell. Both players are expected to play significant roles, but Wallace is viewed as the frontrunner for the starting spot following Lu Dort's departure. Thunder GM Sam Presti highlighted Wallace's importance in a recent press conference. The final decision on the lineup will likely be made before the preseason concludes.
