Owotomo had been with the team for two seasons, following her tenure with the G League's OKC Blue. During her time with the Thunder, the team faced several injuries, including significant time lost by players Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams. Following her departure in June 2026, the Thunder hired Maral Javadifar as their new Athletic Performance Director. The team's full coaching staff is expected to be revealed ahead of the 2026-27 regular season.
