Tiger Woods faces eligibility challenges for PGA Tour events

Tiger Woods has a potential path to participate in the PGA Tour's 2028 Championship Series, although new rules require him to play 15 events in the 2027 season. Woods, who has not competed in an official PGA Tour event since 2024, currently holds a lifetime exemption and will still be eligible for three major tournaments in 2027. His exemptions for the U.S. Open and The Players Championship have expired. Woods also has the option to qualify by winning a PGA Tour event in 2027. PGA Tour Commissioner Brian Rolapp clarified that Woods' involvement in developing the Tour's new structure did not include seeking special treatment for himself.
