Tiger Woods pleads no contest to reckless driving in Florida

Tiger Woods pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of reckless, willful driving at the Martin County Courthouse on Wednesday. The 50-year-old major champion received a five-year driver's license suspension and a $1,000 fine for the charge. An additional five-year suspension and a $500 fine were assessed for his refusal to submit to a sobriety test during a March 27 arrest. State Attorney Thomas Bakkedahl stated the DUI charge was refiled as reckless driving after toxicologists found insufficient evidence of impairment from hydrocodone. The two license suspensions will be served concurrently. Bakkedahl emphasized that Woods is prohibited from operating a vehicle following the court proceedings. The arrest originated from a crash on South Beach Road near the golfer's home in Jupiter Island.
