The Detroit Tigers traded Tarik Skubal to the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 2, 2026, receiving outfielder Zyhir Hope as the key prospect in return. Hope, 21, was previously drafted by the Chicago Cubs and later traded to the Dodgers. He has shown promise in the minors, currently ranked as MLB's 25th prospect with a.293 batting average, 23 home runs, and 87 RBIs this season at Double-A. Expectations suggest a potential call-up for Hope around 2027, barring injuries or roster changes ahead of that timeframe.
