Tigers activate Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize; Jack Flaherty to injured list

The Detroit Tigers are set to welcome back pitchers Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize while placing Jack Flaherty on the 15-day injured list due to a left peroneal strain. Skubal's return comes after nearly five weeks out with elbow issues, whereas Mize is recovering from abductor inflammation. Flaherty showed initial promise in his last start before experiencing discomfort in his lower leg. A.J. Hinch expressed confidence in both returning pitchers, highlighting Mize's presence as significant for the team. The Tigers adjusted their roster by optioning Ty Madden to Triple-A Toledo to make room for Skubal.
