Tigers face scrutiny over handling of Tarik Skubal's tenure

Summary

The Detroit Tigers' management is under review regarding Tarik Skubal's tenure with the team. Despite Skubal's significant contributions during multiple playoff appearances, including a 2024 season where they made a surprising postseason run, the front office's decisions have been called into question. Analysts suggest that the team failed to build a championship-caliber roster around Skubal, ultimately leading to his trade as he became a free agent. Following the 2025 season, the Tigers opted to trade Skubal rather than make a final push for success, raising concerns about their strategic direction for the future.
