Tigers option Ty Madden to Triple-A Toledo amid roster changes

The Tigers optioned right-hander Ty Madden to Triple-A Toledo on June 13 to make room for Tarik Skubal, who returns from injury. Manager AJ Hinch indicated that Madden might not stay in the minors long, following a solid outing where he recorded two scoreless innings and struck out three batters. Madden, who has a 3.15 ERA in seven games, is expected to pitch in the Mud Hens' rotation while also being available for a bulk relief role with the Tigers. The Tigers will soon need to make another roster move to integrate Casey Mize, who is also returning from an injury.
