Tigers promote shortstop prospect John Peck following series against Dodgers

The Detroit Tigers are calling up 24-year-old shortstop John Peck from Triple-A Toledo. The promotion follows the team's weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, where the Tigers lost two of three games. Peck, a seventh-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, earned the call-up after hitting.476 with a.542 on-base percentage during a six-game stretch at the Triple-A level. He previously spent time at Double-A Erie, where he recorded 10 home runs and 19 stolen bases over 58 games. The Tigers currently hold a 63-73 record with 26 games remaining in the season. Peck joins other recent prospects including Kevin McGonigle and Max Clark in the major league lineup as the organization evaluates its roster for the 2027 season.
