Brady Smith, acquired by the Tigers in the Tarik Skubal trade, exited his start for High-A West Michigan on August 15 with an apparent right arm injury. Smith left the game during the first inning after showing discomfort. His abbreviated outing lasted 1.1 innings, during which he allowed one hit, one walk, and struck out one batter. Smith had made his first start for West Michigan on August 8, where he went five innings with two earned runs. The 21-year-old was drafted in 2023 by the Dodgers and is now the No. 10 prospect in the Tigers' system.
