Tigers' prospect Kash Mayfield goes on injured list with hamstring injury

Kash Mayfield, the prospect acquired by the Detroit Tigers in the trade involving Casey Mize, has been placed on the injured list by the West Michigan Whitecaps due to a hamstring injury. The 21-year-old left-handed pitcher has not pitched since July 24, when he was with High-A Fort Wayne. Mayfield, who was selected 25th overall in the 2024 draft by the San Diego Padres, had a 3-1 record with a 3.54 ERA this season. His placement on the injured list delays his debut with the Tigers' High-A affiliate as he continues to recover from the injury.
