Tigers trade Tarik Skubal to Dodgers, Yankees miss out

Summary

The Detroit Tigers have traded left-handed pitcher Tarik Skubal to the Los Angeles Dodgers for three minor leaguers. The deal occurs as the Yankees were actively pursuing Skubal to enhance their rotation, which has seen injuries to key pitchers. Skubal, who is recovering from an injury but has returned to form, was part of recent Cy Young award-winning campaigns. The Tigers received outfielder Zyhir Hope along with right-handers River Ryan and Brady Smith in return from the Dodgers.
