Tim Naegeli is the only University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point player drafted by Celtics

The Boston Celtics have historically utilized the NBA draft to build their rosters by selecting talent from a variety of college programs. While many NBA players emerge from prominent blue-blood universities, the team has also scouted athletes from smaller programs throughout its history. Records indicate that only one player from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has ever been selected by the franchise in an NBA draft. The Celtics selected forward Tim Naegeli in the sixth round of the 1987 NBA draft with the 137th overall pick. Despite being selected by the organization during the annual event, Naegeli did not ultimately make the team roster. No other players from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point have been drafted by Boston.
