Tim Wellens clinched the overall victory at the 2026 Tour of Britain after maintaining his lead through the final stage. The Belgian rider began the concluding day in Earlston with a 21-second advantage over Great Britain’s Lewis Askey. By the end of the 156.1km run, Wellens extended his lead to 42 seconds to secure the general classification title. While Nils Politt claimed the stage five victory, Askey finished 40 seconds behind the overall winner to secure second place overall. Jasper Stuyven rounded out the podium in third. Before the final stage commenced, the peloton held a guard of honour for Ben Swift, who is retiring at the end of the 2026 season. Other notable finishers included Elliot Rowe in sixth, Mark Donovan in ninth, and Ben Wiggins in 10th.
