Tino Livramento undergoes surgery after injury ends World Cup hopes

Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento has had surgery following a calf injury that ended his World Cup campaign with England. Livramento sustained the injury in training days before England's match against Croatia on June 17. Doctors estimate he will be sidelined for about four to five weeks. In his absence, manager Thomas Tuchel has called up Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah. Newcastle expects Livramento to return to action this summer as pre-season approaches for non-international players, who are scheduled to report on July 13.
