The Mets found themselves down 7-0 by the second inning and struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, going 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position. Chase Burns dominated on the mound for the Reds, shutting out the Mets through five innings. Eugenio Suarez hit a grand slam off Myers, contributing to the Mets' most lopsided loss since 2018.
