Top 2027 recruit R.J. Moore commits to Rutgers and Steve Pikiell

R.J. Moore, a 6-foot-6 wing and the top-ranked prospect in North Carolina, announced his commitment to the Rutgers men's basketball program last Friday. The 2027 recruit chose the Scarlet Knights over interest from Vanderbilt, Alabama, and Wake Forest. Moore is the son of former UConn standout and assistant coach Ricky Moore. He plans to join the team ahead of the 2027-28 campaign following his senior season at Ambassador Christian School. Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell, a former UConn captain, remains involved with the team while undergoing cancer treatment. Moore is currently ranked as a top-50 prospect nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings.
