Tottenham schedules behind-closed-doors friendly with MK Dons for player assessment

Summary

Tottenham Hotspur will play a behind-closed-doors friendly against MK Dons on July 22 as part of their pre-season preparations. The match, confirmed to take place at Hotspur Way, provides new manager Roberto De Zerbi an opportunity to evaluate his squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. With the Premier League starting on August 22, players not participating in the World Cup and those returning from injury, including James Maddison, will feature prominently. Young prospects such as Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear aim to impress De Zerbi during this fixture. Following the friendly, Tottenham will travel to New Zealand for a match against Auckland and then to Australia to face Sydney.
