Tottenham's Ashley Phillips nearing transfer to Middlesbrough
Summary

Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Ashley Phillips is close to joining Middlesbrough, with advanced talks reported. The negotiations between the clubs have shown positive momentum after initial difficulties. Phillips, who has mostly been out on loan since Tottenham acquired him from Blackburn Rovers in a £2m deal in 2023, is not part of head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s long-term plans. Middlesbrough is looking to finalize the deal, making Phillips their top summer transfer target as they continue to strengthen their squad.
