Trae Cassell claims top seed at U.S. Senior Amateur match play

Trae Cassell finished as the sole under-par performer after 36 holes of stroke play at the U.S. Senior Amateur at Baltimore Country Club in Lutherville, Maryland. Cassell carded rounds of 68 and 67 to reach 5 under, securing the No. 1 seed for the match-play bracket. While Cassell separated himself from the field, defending champion Louis Brown and several others finished the stroke-play portion at 2 over. A 13-for-3 playoff on Monday morning finalized the bracket, with Niketan Desai, Marc Ehudin, and D. Scott Mackesy advancing., 2025 champion Mike McCoy failed to advance following the playoff. Match play continues through Thursday, when the tournament concludes with the crowning of a champion.
