Travis Hunter excels on defense as Jaguars' dual-role plans evolve

In the Jacksonville Jaguars' 22-17 win against the Cincinnati Bengals on October 4, cornerback Travis Hunter showcased his skills with a 30-yard interception return, despite the play being called back due to a penalty. Head coach Liam Coen has prioritized Hunter's defensive role over his potential as a dual-position player in the NFL, where Hunter previously shone in college. Defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile noted Hunter's improvement in comfort and fundamentals, as the Jaguars' defense leads the league with eight takeaways. Hunter has participated in 74% of defensive snaps this season while focusing less on offense. His progress reflects a strategic choice to develop his strengths on defense.
