Trent Green discusses his 99-yard touchdown pass for Kansas City

Former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green recently reflected on his franchise-record 99-yard touchdown pass. The play occurred on December 22, 2002, at Arrowhead Stadium during a game against the San Diego Chargers. Green explained that a hard count at the goal line backed the team up slightly, ultimately creating the opportunity for the record-breaking distance. After play-faking to his tight ends, Green identified that the safety had vacated his zone, allowing him to connect with Marc Boerigter for the score. Boerigter caught the pass at the 40-yard line and ran the remaining distance to reach the end zone. Green remains one of only fourteen players in league history to record a 99-yard passing play.
