Trevon Diggs tries out for Lions as his NFL career struggles

Summary

Trevon Diggs, former All-Pro cornerback, tried out for the Detroit Lions on August 10, 2026. As a free agent entering his seventh season, Diggs' career has seen a significant downturn after signing a five-year, $97 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. He suffered an ACL injury in 2024, struggled under various defensive schemes, and faced conflicts with coaching staff. Despite previous success, including leading the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021, he remains unsigned amidst the Lions' need for depth following the legal issues of cornerback Terrion Arnold.
