Triston Casas undergoes wrist surgery; injury updates for Red Sox players

Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas had wrist surgery yesterday, with no timeline for his return due to prior knee and abdominal injuries. Willson Contreras, who has replaced Casas at first, left last night’s game early due to illness, not injury. Catcher Adley Rutschman is also on the mend from a wrist injury, but is reportedly feeling better. Red Sox are focusing on managing Rutschman’s recovery without rushing his return. Ceddanne Rafeala continues to perform well, currently ranking third in baseball in position player bWAR.
