Tulsa sweeps Arizona volleyball in straight sets at Bluejay Invitational

Tulsa defeated Arizona in straight sets at the Bluejay Invitational on Saturday in Omaha. The Golden Hurricanes won the opening set 29-27 after saving three set points, then secured the match with 25-16 and 25-18 victories in the final two frames. Arizona struggled with serve receive throughout the contest, conceding 11 aces to Tulsa. Head coach Rita Stubbs attributed the loss to a lack of defensive focus and execution. Destiny Ndam-Simpson led Arizona with 13 kills and 10 digs, while Jill Hanson paced the Tulsa attack with 12 kills on.706 hitting. Arizona now prepares to face Pepperdine on Sunday at D.J. Sokol Arena.
