Tunisian football federation discusses Lamouchi's future after World Cup loss

Tunisia have responded to their 5-1 World Cup thrashing by Sweden by sacking coach Sabri Lamouchi and replacing him with Frenchman Herve Renard, the federation announced on national TV on Monday."The president of the Tunisian Football Federation, Moez Nassari, announced that an official agreement had been reached with French coach Herve Renard for him to take charge of the national football team until the end of the 2026 World Cup," the Tunisian public broadcaster announced.

Tunisia has fired coach Sabri Lamouchi after being thrashed 5-1 by Sweden in its first match at the World Cup and appointed French coach Hervé Renard, the Tunisian soccer federation posted on its social media Tuesday and told state news agency TAP. The 54-year-old Lamouchi had only been in charge of the national team since January. Tunisia’s heavy loss on Sunday left the North African nation with a tough task to reach the last 32.
