Twins promote top prospect Walker Jenkins ahead of Friday debut

The Minnesota Twins are promoting top prospect Walker Jenkins, who is expected to debut on Friday against the White Sox at Target Field. Jenkins has been performing well in Triple-A, hitting.308 with 14 home runs this season, including six in his last ten games. This call-up comes after injuries in the outfield, to Byron Buxton. Minnesota is currently 6.5 games behind the White Sox in the AL Central and 4 games back of the Guardians for the final Wild Card spot. The scheduled first pitch is at 7:10 p.m. CT.
