Daejon Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, were arrested in Boise, Idaho, and face federal charges for allegedly defrauding at least 26 women out of over $1.3 million. The scheme, which began in February 2022, involved Love posing as a San Francisco 49ers player and claiming to be a wealthy investor, targeting victims primarily through dating apps. The U.S. Attorney’s office reports that victims were misled into believing they were in romantic relationships and were promised substantial investment returns. Love and Chan reportedly used fake bank accounts to strengthen their deception. Their arrest occurred as Love was reportedly seeking new victims.
