Ty France excels for San Diego Padres after stint with Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays sit 0.5 games behind the final American League Wild Card spot following a 6-3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday. While the Blue Jays push for a playoff position, former teammate Ty France has emerged as a key contributor for the San Diego Padres. France has logged 114 games this season, recording 20 home runs and 62 RBIs with a 3.1 WAR, a figure higher than any current Toronto batter. The Blue Jays’ top offensive contributors in WAR are currently Andres Gimenez, Kazuma Okamoto, Alejandro Kirk, Brandon Valenzuela, and Nathan Lukes. Following the series conclusion in Cleveland, Toronto prepares to open a series against the Kansas City Royals on Friday, September 4.
