Tyler Guyton development allows Dallas Cowboys to manage offensive tackle issues

The Dallas Cowboys have struggled with pass protection at both tackle positions for two consecutive seasons. Tyler Guyton, the 2024 first-round draft pick, is showing improvement at left tackle, which provides the offensive line with more stability. While Terence Steele remains the starter on the right side, his recent regression in pass protection has forced the team to seek additional support. Dallas recently acquired Broderick Jones from the Pittsburgh Steelers to address the depth concerns caused by Steele’s performance and Jones’ ongoing recovery from spinal fusion surgery. Guyton’s growth allows the team to focus limited blocking assistance on the right side rather than splitting resources across both tackles. Steele remains the projected starter for the early portion of the schedule while Jones continues to work on his technique and physical strength.
