Tyrone Britt remains the first player to wear number 31 for Rockets

The Houston Rockets history series continues with a focus on Tyrone Britt, the first player to wear jersey number 31 for the franchise. Britt signed with the team as an undrafted free agent from Johnson C. Smith University in 1967. During his sole professional season with the organization, which was then located in San Diego, he averaged 2.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Britt left the league following his 1967-68 campaign. His tenure is part of an ongoing project to document every player who has worn the 52 different jersey numbers in Rockets franchise history.
