UAA gymnastics announces new recruits and ABL award winners

College SportsThe University of Alaska Anchorage gymnastics team has added five newcomers to its 2026-27 roster, including junior transfer Aiyana Thomas from Fisk University and four freshmen: Callee Botts, Georgina Gibson, Elena Markley, and Giorgia Wilson. Meanwhile, the Alaska Baseball League revealed its annual awards, with Brooks Hasenclever named Player of the Year. The Mat-Su Miners received Coaching Staff of the Year honors after winning the Top of the World Series for two consecutive years. Notable pitchers Tate Greene and Austin Park co-won the Golden Glove award, while several players earned All-League status. The Fairbanks North Star Borough will host the Arctic Winter Games in 2028, marking the first time since 2014 that the games will return to the area.
