UAlbany drops 21-17 contest to Buffalo following late goal-line errors

The University at Albany fell 21-17 to the University at Buffalo on Thursday night in a game marked by a significant weather delay. The Great Danes, who were 18.5-point underdogs, held a lead in the third quarter after quarterback Kai Colon connected with Justus Murray Jr. for a 14-yard touchdown. Late in the contest, UAlbany reached the Buffalo 1-yard line but failed to convert after a false start penalty pushed them back to the 6-yard line. A final fourth-down pass attempt was caught by Luke McAuliffe short of the goal line, resulting in a turnover on downs. Coach Tom Perkovich cited the need to improve situational execution after the team moved to a 1-1 record on the season. UAlbany travels to face Long Island University on September 12.
