UC Santa Barbara volleyball defeats Arizona in three sets

Arizona volleyball fell to UC Santa Barbara in a three-set match Sunday, ending its nonconference home slate. The Gauchos secured the victory with set scores of 25-22, 29-27, and 25-23. Arizona head coach Rita Stubbs adjusted her lineup throughout the contest, substituting several starters including Carlie Cisneros and Journey Tucker. Payton Woods and Kristen Dear saw increased playing time as a result of the tactical changes. Despite leading in the second and third sets, the Wildcats struggled to maintain momentum against a consistent Gauchos attack. UC Santa Barbara finished with 53 kills compared to 32 for Arizona and relied on tournament MVP Sophia Wendlick to drive its offense.
