UCF to face Florida and Florida State in Lazo's debut season

UCF women's basketball will open its season under coach Gabe Lazo on November 3 against Florida A&M. The Knights' non-conference schedule features seven games against in-state rivals, including a matchup at Florida on November 5 and a neutral-site game against Florida State on November 21. Lazo, who previously served as an assistant at Mississippi State, Tennessee, and LSU, is the first Latino head coach in Power Four women's basketball history. Following its initial matchups, UCF will participate in the Florida Gulf Classic over Thanksgiving weekend, facing Charlotte and Central Michigan. The team's Big 12 conference schedule will be announced later.
