UCLA fires athletic director Martin Jarmond for a 6.5 million dollar buyout

This move follows a period of administrative turnover at the university, which also paid a buyout to former football head coach DeShaun Foster last year. Combined, UCLA has dedicated over 12 million dollars to buyout payments for these two departures within the last year. During his time as athletic director, Jarmond oversaw the transition of the athletic program from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten and managed the hiring of football coach Bob Chesney. The university has sought to achieve profitability across its sports programs despite these significant expenditures on personnel changes.
